The Easy-Macro lens attaches to your cell phone with an elastic band. It's fun to use and very inexpensive!(NOTE: I was NOT paid to write about the Easy-Macro lens nor was I given a free one for review.)

A while back, I saw some nifty little camera lenses that attached via a magnet to your cell phone’s camera.

I swooned. I fell in love. I coveted. (Read that to mean that I tried to convince my hubby that we needed — yes, NEEDED — to buy them.)

But, they were rather pricey. Sigh.

Imagine my delight when I came across this other little nifty camera lens that attaches to your cell phone via a rubber band.

A rubber band? you say.

Yes, indeedy. A rubber band.

So, it will fit just about any size of cell phone. Sweet.

Merely slip the rubber band over your phone. Position the lens over your camera opening. Voila! You can take macro pictures.

Wanna photograph arachnids, ants, or potato bugs? You got it.

Want up close and personal pics of flowers, a pencil eraser, the freckle on your left kneecap? No pro-blem-o.

I am now the proud owner of this remarkable item.

So I yanked away sweetly asked my granddaughter to share her doll with me so that I could take a picture of the doll’s eye.

Then, I took a picture of my favorite soda pop.

Then, I wandered outside to take pictures of some flowers.

Oh me oh my! I had a great time.

There are two reasons why I’m telling you about this little darlin’. First, it’s just plain fun to have and use, Dear Grandmothers!

I think that you personally can have lots of fun with this lens. You can expand your photography skills by simply snapping a rubber band onto your phone. You don’t have to take expensive classes. You don’t have to use daunting equipment. Fun and easy is the operative word here.

The second reason is that this lens can provide you and your grandchildren with loads of bonding time together.

Now that winter is winding down, you and your tween or teen grandkids can head outdoors and take macro pictures of loads of things.

Then, you can frame your favorites, share them on Facebook or Instagram with other family members, or make a picture book using a service such as Shutterfly.

You know, this would be a great birthday present for that hard-to-shop-for teenage grandchild. Just sayin’.

And the clincher? It’s one-third the price of those magnetic lenses. Double sweet! (Rubber bands are cheaper to manufacture than magnets.)

If you head over to easy-macro.com, you can get this clever invention for only $11.99. Did you catch that? Only 12 smackeroos. They even have a 5 pack for $40 so that you can get one for you and one for several of your grandkids. It’s a real bargain if you ask me!

You can’t miss with this little gadget. It’s not bulky. It’s not expensive. It’s easy to use. You can have loads of fun with it.

Hey! I just had a thought. If you get one of these lenses, send me some of your pictures and I’ll share them here. So, send them along to nina (at) grandmaideas.com I look forward to seeing your great pictures!
